Bottles of wine can be purchased during the week (Tuesday - Saturday) as well.Ī: Our farm store is very family oriented and kids are always allowed (with supervision) in the store and outside in the patio area, however, you must be 21 or over to be in the tasting rooms.Ī: Yes, but all pets must stay outside, be on a leash, be friendly towards people and other animals, and you must pick up after them. We always want to be properly staffed and make sure all our customers can be accommodated. We also ask that if you are coming with a party of 8 or more to let us know in advance. We generally have breads, cheeses, and fruits available in the store as well as bottled water, sodas, and lemonades. Feel free to bring your own snacks but there are no alcoholic beverages (other than our wine) permitted. We have seating available inside and outside on our porch and patio. We make all of our wines on-site and use a combination of grapes we grow here on our vineyard as well as some we bring in from California and other wine growing regions. Perhaps ending with a picnic lunch on the cute patio tables they have set up on a terrace overlooking the vineyard.Our winery has been the latest addition here at Arrowhead Acres with our grand opening in the fall of 2018. If you’re planning a trip to the Litchfield Hills region of northwest Connecticut, we’d absolutely recommend stopping at White Silo Winery for some tastings and a stroll though their fields. With a splash of sparkling water it made a lovely dry spritzer. We also bought a bottle of the dry rhubarb wine for a late summer meal. It had a somewhat tart but full-bodied flavor that paired beautifully with turkey and mashed potatoes. We bought a bottle of their black currant wine for Thanksgiving. I am generally a bit skeptical about fruit wines - OK, I tend to think of them as cheap teen booze - but after trying a few of White Silo’s, I was persuaded. In addition to traditional grape wines, they also sell a range of intriguing fruit wines. A few months ago, we were visiting friends in western Connecticut and had a wonderful time at White Silo Winery, a tiny and charming vineyard located in Sherman, CT.
